He told us: “Qualcomm Internet Services strives to change the way mobile users relate to wireless data – from mobile gaming to location services and more – by enabling ease of discovery and delivery of high-value content. We believe MEX will provide a unique platform for industry players to discuss the critical factors that will positively influence the mobile user experience.”

Qualcomm’s uiOne product incorporates technology from Trigenix, a company it acquired in 2004. Trigenix, originally known as 3G Lab, was one of the pioneers of mobile interface customisation. As part of Qualcomm, the technology has been rolled into a complete delivery platform for interface and content.

MediaFlo is Qualcomm’s end-to-end mobile TV solution. The company has invested about USD 700m in acquiring spectrum and building out network infrastructure in the US to jump start the market for mobile TV. It’s efforts recently paid dividends when both Verizon and AT&T announced they would use MediaFlo for their mobile broadcast rollout.
