MEX Inspirations for 1st June 2009
| Play Me I’m Yours | Music on the move… This month 30 street pianos are being installed for public use throughout London as part of an artwork by Luke Jerram entitled ‘Play Me I’m Yours’. Each piano is decorated by a different artist and all will be freely available to anyone who wants to bring a little music to the streets. The London project follows successful schemes in Birmingham and Sydney last year. You can find them all over the city, including outside the Natural History Museum, The British Library and in Leicester Square. When the project ends in July, the pianos will be donated to local schools and community groups. It is the most inspiring ‘mobile music’ story I’ve heard in a long while! |
