MEX moves into Wallacespace

Wallacespace cafeWe’re delighted to announce the next MEX conference (2nd/3rd May 2007) will be hosted at Wallacespace, a unique venue set in the heart of London’s design community.

Attendees at MEX will find an environment filled with inspiring artwork, light and air, relaxing sofas and the highest standards of personal service. It’s all part of our commitment to make MEX a very different style of event, where our community of mobile industry pioneers can learn, debate and network.

Our decision to partner with Wallacespace reflects the new format of the MEX conference, where everyone in attendance is actively involved in responding to the agenda. Here’s how it works:

The event is based around 10 keynote presentations, hosted in the venue’s main conference room. We’ve invited 10 of the industry’s leading speakers to respond directly to the 10 points of our MEX manifesto.

Wallacespace sofas6 of these presentations will inspire a series of breakout sessions, providing delegates with the opportunity to work together in smaller, more focused discussion groups facillitated by our user experience experts. The breakouts will take place in a series of individually designed rooms throughout the venue and conclude with the groups returning to the main conference area to share their insights with the other delegates.

In addition, 4 of the keynote presentations will be followed by panel debates in the main conference room, where the chairman will lead an open discussion between all participants.

Wallacespace incorporates a wide range of areas for relaxed networking, including a roof-top cafe where delegates can help themselves to healthy ‘brain food’ throughout the day. MEX will occupy the entire building for the two day event.

Hannah Melville heads the events team at Wallacespace and explained why they do things differently: “We know that where you think influences what you think. We used to rent conference centres ourselves and we were fed up with institutional, corporate spaces that were dull and staid. So we set up something different – light, bright, airy, modern; a place that looks good and that you want to be in. Our job is done when someone walks in, settles in a chair or on a sofa, and says ‘I’d love to live here’. We are passionate about the ‘vibe’ we create and the service and the food we offer.”

Marek Pawlowski, Editorial Director at PMN, commented: “We launched the PMN Mobile User Experience conference to help the telecoms industry better understand its customers and deliver more useable, desireable products. In setting out to achieve this objective, we also made a commitment to providing our own customers – the conference attendees – with the best possible experience. Wallacespace’s unique style and approach is a key part of how we deliver that.”

Wallacespace is at 2 Dryden Street, London, WC2E 9NA. You can find it via Google Maps by clicking here.
