Dining club

Our dining club is a series of informal gatherings bringing together friends from the MEX community who share an interest in digital experience design.

There are no presentations or pitches, just good food and good company enjoyed with a group of fellow designers, strategists and technologists.

Most editions of the dining club include some of those who’ve been guests on the podcast, participated at the conference or contributed to the journal.

How to join

Everyone is welcome, but there are a limited number of places at each edition of the dining club.

If you’d like to come along, just get in touch to request your invitation or to receive updates about future events.

  •  30th October 2018, London (Quiet design)

For this edition of the MEX dining club, our discussion theme is focused on the notion of digital experiences which feel quiet, soft and subtle. While at first glance this may seem a straightforward question of minimalism, it is often rather more complex than the old adage of ‘less is more’. The volume of most interfaces could be reduced with fewer notifications and hooks for users’ attention, but is the ultimate challenge of quiet design to create digital experiences which are at once both immersive and yet gentle on our cognitive bandwidth? As always, there are no formal presentations at the dinner, but participants are encouraged to share personal experiences with their fellow diners during an evening of good food and relaxed conversation.
