Motorola’s Charm-ing form factor experiment
Motorola’s Charm is one of the more unusual form factors we’ve seen recently, countering the strong trend towards generic touchscreen slates. It combines a QWERTY keyboard, a square overall shape, touchscreen and a rear-mounted touchpad. This Phonescoop.com video provides a good overall review of the device, with a particular focus on how the keyboard, touchscreen and rear touchpad interact with each other (starting from about 1:10).
We’ll be looking at these issues in more depth at the next MEX Conference in London on 30th November – 1st December, where MEX Pathway #6 is structured to: “Inspire new form factors and counter the trend towards ubiquity of the slate.”
