Sharp preparing new 3G handsets for Vodafone
Vodafone KK, the Japanese operator, will start selling two new 3G handsets manufactured by Sharp in August. The first, 703SH, is a lightweight, entry-level device with a 1.3 mega-pixel camera. It has a small clamshell form-factor and weighs just over 100g.
Building on its reputation for advanced imaging devices, Sharp’s other new product – 903SH – includes a 3.2 mega-pixel camera with optical zoom. This makes it one of the most advanced camera phones available for W-CDMA networks.
Vodafone has implemented a global procurement policy for its 3G handsets and we expect to see these devices in European markets in the next couple of months.
