Sharp preparing new 3G handsets for Vodafone

Vodafone 903SH (left) and 703SH (right)Vodafone KK, the Japanese operator, will start selling two new 3G handsets manufactured by Sharp in August. The first, 703SH, is a lightweight, entry-level device with a 1.3 mega-pixel camera. It has a small clamshell form-factor and weighs just over 100g.

Building on its reputation for advanced imaging devices, Sharp’s other new product – 903SH – includes a 3.2 mega-pixel camera with optical zoom. This makes it one of the most advanced camera phones available for W-CDMA networks.

Vodafone has implemented a global procurement policy for its 3G handsets and we expect to see these devices in European markets in the next couple of months.
