Going to Made In Brunel?

Made In Brunel, the annual event organised by the graduating designers at Brunel University, is being held 12th – 15th June 2014 at the Bargehouse on London’s Southbank.

I encourage the MEX community to attend each year because it is an opportunity to see new perspectives within a diverse range of design and engineering projects, spanning everything from digital experiences to healthcare products. In addition, you meet talented design students as they start their professional careers.

Registration is free of charge at madeinbrunel.com/registration.

The event is entirely organised by the students themselves. It includes a series of talks, such as a Pecha Kucha evening on Thursday 12th June where they invite leading figures from the design industry to share their experiences. This year’s agenda includes Andrew Muir Wood, co-founder of Zombie Labs and Research Director at MEX.

MEX has worked with Brunel University for many years on a programme of work experience and career development. Brunel students help shape the creative sessions at each MEX event and work alongside our facilitators to help teams of industry professionals define best practice and create ideas for the future of digital user experience.

The skills, enthusiasm and insight of the Brunel students has impressed consistently, with MEX participants frequently citing the quality of Brunel’s contribution. By working alongside the MEX community of design directors and industry executives, the Brunel teams have gone on to employment opportunities and form long-lasting relationships, including returning to speak as design leaders at future MEX events as their careers develop.

Last year we also worked with students to organise a day of workshops at Made In Brunel exploring the notion of quiet design and multi-sensory interfaces, a summary of which can be found here.

Both Andrew and I will be there on Thursday 12th June, drop us a line if you’d like to catch up.
