We have done a complete re-design of the Transport for London Mobile Journey Planner, a way-finding tool for WAP delivery, to be built in XHTML. We chose WAP and XHTML because of its ubiquity and the lack of need for download and installation–a very practical choice. We compromised and innovated to work around the limitations of the XHTML user experience, while leveraging the brand strength of TfL’s desktop web site.
