Orange will be one of the first operators to sell an own-brand Windows Mobile handset operating on 3G networks. The SPV M5000 is aimed specifically at business users, combining 3G, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth in large, PDA-style device. It also incorporates a mega-pixel camera and QWERTY keyboard.
The M5000 is manufactured by HTC of Taiwan and incorporates the latest 5.0 version of Windows Mobile, with enhanced Office applications and wireless networking support.
Orange was the first operator to launch a Windows Mobile smartphone, the original SPV, and has been a long-term supporter of Microsoft’s technology as part of its ‘Signature’ handset programme. The carrier now offers a range of Windows Mobile-based products, from consumer-focused feature phones to high-end devices like the M5000.
