Natural interface specialist Advanced Recognition Technologies (ART) has ported its smARTspeak XG voice recognition system to Qualcomm’s MSM chipset. smARTspeak is a speaker independent, phoneme-based embedded solution.
Qualcomm’s MSM chipsets are used by a wide range of manufacturers in CDMA handsets such as the colour screen devices used on CDMA2000 1x 3G networks. The availability of smARTspeak for this chipset will simplify the integration of the technology into handset products. ART has already completed similar ports for TI’s OMAP and Motorola’s DragonBall.

This will make an optimised version of ART’s user friendly and robust voice recognition technology easily available to handset designers using Qualcomm’s MSM chipsets.
