Digital Bridges wins Telefonica contract

Mobile games developer Digital Bridges has won a contract to supply Telefonica Moviles, the Spanish network operator, with a portfolio of entertainment services. Telefonica will offer the services over SMS, WAP and Java.

Titles include Star Trek, Scooby Doo, Men in Black II and EA SPORTS FIFA 2003. There will also be a selection of dating games to connect Telefonica’s 18m subscribers with real or virtual partners. The services will be launched in October.

“The partnership with Telefonica Moviles Espana marks our first move into the Spanish market, and we are looking forward to repeating the explosive growth we have seen in other regions,” said Brian Greasley, chief executive officer at Digital Bridges. “Telefonica Moviles Espana constitutes an ideal partner for us as its customer-oriented, marketing-based approach will ensure a rapidly growing number of customers enjoying our games. We plan on expanding our current entertainment offerings with Telefonica Moviles Espana and also anticipate exploring our services for GPRS and i-Mode with them in due course.”
