Future of touchscreens and multi-platform

Our series of ideas picked by the Brunel designers participating at MEX continues with this contribution from Jon Fletcher.

Jon commented: “You may have already seen this, but I think it’s interesting to see how touchscreen technology could be interacted with in other aspects of life. Also, it gives some good hints as to how the technology could be used to share things between people, in-turn getting people to interact more with each other, rather than just pushing some buttons.”

The concept video was created by TAT, the Swedish user experience pioneers recently acquired by RIM and long-standing participants at MEX. It explores some of the themes in the MEX Pathways, particularly Pathway #2 (‘Research the implications of supporting more than one screen from a single device‘).

(Look out for the guest appearance by TAT co-founder and MEX speaker alumnus Hampus Jakobsson).

The next MEX is on 4th/5th May 2011 in London. A team of designers in their final year at Brunel University is participating to inject their creative thinking into the MEX working sessions and help the teams to visualise ideas.
